About MURA
The Malayan Umamusume Racing Association (or MURA for short) is an in-game club and community created for the global version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby. While originally founded by members from Malaysia and Singapore, it has since grown into a global community.
Parodying the real-life Malayan Racing Association (MRA), MURA emulates a professional racing association by organizing regular races and hosting virtual betting games. The community is active on Discord and maintains a dedicated website that serves as a hub for players to celebrate their shared love for Umamusume and horse racing.
Our History
Foundation and Early Growth

Following the global release of Umamusume: Pretty Derby in June 2025, players ewidaria and fellow enthusiasts established both the in-game club and its corresponding Discord server. From the very beginning, the vision was clear: to create a space where fans of the game could come together not just as players, but as members of something that felt like a real racing association.
Over the next few months, the club experienced a surge in activity. The founders organized weekly races, created edited race highlights that drew attention from the broader community, and hosted community events and tournaments that gave members something to look forward to each week. What started as a small group of enthusiasts quickly became one of the most active Umamusume clubs in the region.
Leadership Transition and Decline
In October 2025, ewidaria stepped down as the active leader of the club to focus on managing another club and a separate annual Grand Prix event, shifting to a supporting role. Leadership and moderation were handed over to the next in line, with the expectation that the club would continue to grow.
However, the incoming leadership quietly left the community and the in-game club without notice. With no active leadership, the Discord server and in-game club fell into dormancy. Members gradually drifted away, and the in-game leadership role defaulted to an inactive, unreachable player. For several months, MURA existed in name only — a ghost of the vibrant community it had once been.
The Revival
In May 2026, ewidaria stepped back into the primary management role to revive MURA. Rather than simply restarting where things had left off, the revival was treated as an opportunity to rebuild the club from the ground up with a stronger foundation and clearer direction.
As part of the revitalization effort, they upgraded the club's website into a fully functioning information and media-sharing hub, established clear membership guidelines, and outlined new action plans, routines, and events. As of June 2026, the club is preparing to launch its first biweekly race, marking the beginning of a new chapter for MURA.
Club Features and Systems
Competitive Races
To emulate the real-life MRA, MURA schedules regular competitive races on a weekly or biweekly basis. Members enter their trained Umamusumes and compete for points and glory across two divisions — Graded (open to all ranks) and Open (for A+ rank and below). The club also schedules prestigious "Classics" throughout the year — marquee events that carry extra weight and bragging rights.
Racer Leaderboards
Members earn points based on their Umamusumes' race performances across Graded and Open divisions. The scoring system awards 10 pts for 1st place, 6 pts for 2nd, 4 pts for 3rd, 2 pts for 4th, and 1 pt for 5th place and beyond. Tiebreakers are decided by most wins, then most 2nd-place finishes, then fewest races run. Leaderboards reset at the end of every calendar year to keep competition fresh and give newcomers a fair shot.
Pick'em Predictions
Not racing? You can still get in on the action. MURA's Pick'em system lets members predict the podium finishers before each race kicks off. Score 3 pts for correctly predicting 1st place, 2 pts for 2nd, and 1 pt for 3rd — with a maximum of 6 points per race. It's a fun, low-barrier way for everyone to engage with race day, whether they're competing on the track or calling the shots from the sidelines.
Classic Events
Beyond the regular weekly schedule, MURA hosts prestigious "Classic" events throughout the year — higher-stakes races inspired by real-world horse racing's most celebrated fixtures. These Classics carry extra prestige, larger audiences, and serve as the highlight of the MURA racing calendar. They're the races everyone trains for.
Offline & Community Events
Beyond the digital turf, MURA fosters an active real-world community. We believe that the bond over Umamusume extends beyond the screen — it's about coming together, sharing experiences, and bridging the gap between the game and the sport that inspired it.
Racetrack & Stables Visits
Gathering at local turf clubs and stables to watch real-life horse racing and support the sport up close — experiencing the very world that inspired Umamusume, while showing our support for the racing community.
ACG Meetups
Organizing social gatherings at Anime, Comic, and Games (ACG) conventions — meeting fellow Torena-san in person, celebrating the fandom, and supporting the broader ACG community.
